An evening of songs, stories and harmony that carries audiences through time, along the waterways of the UK brought to you by Three Idle Women.Suitable for all, their songs and stories are about the fragility and the preciousness of life, with a playfulness on stage, using humour to interact with the audience, actively encouraging heckling and audience sing-alongs.
Three Idle Women have a fondness for close harmony singing and stories that are carried through song, taking you on a musical journey weaving heritage stories and insights into life afloat. The trio capture snapshots of life through the eyes of the boaters. Exploring ideas of socio-geography, deepening connections to place and landscape and our relationship to nature, they reference and celebrate boaters and characters from the canals, both past and present.They have been featured on Mark Radcliffe's BBC Radio 2 folk show, included in Fatea's winter showcase and played extensively on folk radio stations across the UK. The trio featured in Channel 4's series Narrow Escapes in May 2025. Their live performances blend high- quality music with interactive story-telling, visuals and films along with a Krankie (a wonderful story-telling contraption)."
