Details

Traditional Highland Games set in the heart of Royal Deeside in Aboyne.

A fun packed day for all the family, with over 95 events on the field, 80 plus trade stands and a large fun fair for all to enjoy.

From 10.30am until beating the retreat in late afternoon the arena is bustling all day long.

Aboyne Highland Games have excellent calibre of heavy competitors, solo pipers, dancers, fiddlers, light event athletes and mass pipe bands to entertain you. There is also a six mile hill race mid afternoon which attracts around 100 runners.

Unique to Aboyne Highland Games is the Clan Village where a dozen Clan Chiefs and their followers will welcome you to their tents and perhaps help you trace your Clan Ancestry.

There will also be a team in the overseas tent to welcome visitors from abroad. A welcome ceremony is held there at 3.00pm hosted by Chieftain, The Most Honourable, The Marquis of Huntly.
