Judge Smith Requiem Mass (World premiere) Judge Smith co-founded the influential rock band Van der Graaf Generator in 1967 with singer-songwriter Peter Hammill, and since then has continued to be involved in numerous musical projects as writer, composer and performer.

Judges Requiem Mass was written in 1975 as a major piece of symphonic, choral and rock music. Recorded in 2016 but not performed live until now, it is acknowledged as one of his most significant achievements.

Paul Patterson is one of the most widely respected of British composers. An important part of this reputation is based on his choral music. His Magnificat Op 75 was commissioned by Sir David Willcocks and the Bach Choir in 1994. Scored for organ, brass octet and 2 percussionists, the work is in 5 movements.
