The improvised Documentary

The workshop will focus on the Improvised Longform know as the Documentary.

This form splits the difference between representational and presentational theatre.

As seen in The Office, Parks and Rec, and What We Do in the Shadows.

We will practice scenic and environmental testimonials, interviews, the use of documentarians, narrations, and grounded scenework.

This is an amazing opportunity to work with a UCB legend who invented this form! He will only be in town for a short period of time, so grab 'em fast! Billy facts!

Billy Merritts been performing and teaching at the UCB since its inception. Co-founding legendary Improv groups The Swarm and The Stepfathers in New York, and The Smokes in Los Angeles. Billy got his TV start on UCBs Comedy Central show, which lead to multiple appearances on Late Night With Conan OBrien, MTVs Boiling Points, VH1s Best Week Ever. Since moving to LA hes appeared on great shows such as Reno 911, Happy Endings, Weeds, Parks and Rec and Brooklyn Nine Nine to name a few. Billys voice is heard on many commercials and cartoons, he's the voice of Fryman from Cartoon Networks Steven Universe and host of Jamesons Radio Network. Billy is a native Floridian and proudly maintains a Florida Man lifestyle.
