One of Manchester’s Finest - Clarinet & Saxophone Supremo Picks His Favourite Jazz

Andy Hooley first made a name for himself as one of the highest ranking clarinettists and saxophonists in the Royal Airforce. He’s a band leader of great skill and sensitivity, an expert arranger and he has one of the finest tones of any reeds player you’ll hear today. He’s turned his hand to many styles of music but he always turns back to jazz - his first love since a boy playing in brass bands in his native Manchester area. Andy will present a show that brims with melody featuring bebop and swing styles. Creating music onstage with Andy will be another northern ’star’ the drummer Gaz Hughes, ace London pianist Jonathan Taylor and bassist Paul Jefferies.
