It is 2019.

Geoff Marsh is a retired police officer. He has been invited to the Winton Community Centre to deliver a talk . It could be the usual talk about his career, scattered with useful hints and tips on crime prevention and road safety. Instead, Geoff delivers an often funny, dramatic and moving monologue. He tells of how he became a miner, a lover, a husband and a father and of the decision that changed him, his family and his community forever.
