Tours 2023* : New Year's Day Walk - Donaghadee

Bring your visiting friends and family to learn more about where you live. Start the New Year off on the right foot. Build up an appetite for NYD lunch!

The stunning seaside town of Donaghadee featured in the BBC "Hope Street" television series, is the nearest port to Scotland, and boasts a rich maritime history. Immerse yourself in stories from 1600 to the present day. Learn about the Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat, which rescued survivors from the MV Princess Victoria in 1953. You will also explore the history of the Moat and streets and churches in the town.

The tour will be guided by Dr Robert Neill.

Things to note

Tour departs on foot from Donaghadee Harbour. Children are welcome, ticket applicable. No concessions. U18s must be accompanied by at least one paying adult. Easy pace 2hr 30mins walking tour with some inclines and steep hill to the Moat. Walking shoes and warm coat are advisable.
