The Queen of the Birds: with illustrator Kate Leiper

The Kingdom of the Birds needs a new King: but who will it be? The bird with the loveliest song? Or the brightest plumage? Or the one who can fly highest? The Eagle fancies his chances. But a wise wee bird has other ideas.

Come and listen to the story of “The Queen of the Birds”, a picture book written by the award-winning songwriter and folk musician, Karine Polwart, and illustrated by Kate Leiper. Swoop into a colourful world of amazing feathery facts, and a lively tale that celebrates difference and cooperation. Then prepare to flap, hoot and squawk along as Kate guides you through making your very own paper plate bird.

This event is suitable for children aged 4 – 8 and their families. Older or younger siblings are welcome too. Buy a ticket for every child and adult attending.
