The Janet Coats Memorial Prizegiving

Join us as we celebrate the Janet Coats Memorial Prize 2024, an annual poetry award given in remembrance of Janet Coats, who originated from the local J&P Coats thread making family and was later involved in the establishment of the James Tait Black Prize in honour of her late husband. Janet was also a talented poet, as well as a great philanthropist in education, health and welfare. In this event, we will hear each of the short-listed poems selected by a panel of the Renfrewshire Makar - Shaun Moore - and two other judges, who will announce the winners of both the adult and young person prizes.
