Sounds of the Future - Ralph Porrett. Jazz Guitar with Wrekin College Jazz Band

By popular demand we see the return of Ralph Porrett on Jazz guitar with his Quintet and our own Wrekin College Jazz Band. In 2020 Ralph was the first ever guitarist to perform in the BBC Young Jazz Musician Final, a feat he remarkably repeated in 2022! He has performed in genres spanning jazz, classical, rock and pop at the Barbican, O2 Arena, Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Stadium. Memorable moments include performing for His Royal Highness the King at Westminster Abbey, the BBC Proms, playing with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and hearing the orchestral arrangements CBSO commissioned him to write, performed at Symphony Hall in 2019. Ralph's Quintet have built up an impressive resume over the last three years, including performances across the UK, most notably at the EFG London Jazz Festival, Chequers Court (for the Prime Minister) and Pizza Express Dean Street. Unconventional frontline instruments paired with a drummer-less rhythm section creates a unique sound world and a canvas for musical interaction. Ralph is releasing a collection of singles throughout 2024 while working on his debut album. Ralph will be joined by his Jazz Quintet members : Eliana Veinberga - Vocals, Ruta Sipola - Flute, Harry Toulson - Alto saxophone and Rory Hudson - Double Bass
