A powerful and celebratory physical theatre performance which encapsulates and honours the memories and working lives of the elderly residents of Bealach House day care in Baillieston. From book-binder to demolition man, seamstress to cafe owner, Moving Memories salutes the industry and skill of a generation past, while exploring the way these roles informed their identities. The intricate choreography generated urges us not to forget those that contributed their labour and the best days of their lives to building a prosperous and progressive Scotland.
The performance will be immediately followed by a short inclusive interactive opportunity for all audience members.
Moving Memories is the latest community theatre project from Loop Theatre. We specialise in creating inclusive physical theatre opportunities for learning disabled performers across Glasgow.
This project is supported by Creative Scotland and is a restaging of a 2019 production.
