"Macbeth" by William Shakespeare, performed by the University of Essex's East 15 Acting School

Detaljer

" By the pricking of my thumb, something evil this way comes."

Macbeth is a tale of witchcraft and ambition leading to tragedy.

As would have been the case in Shakespeare's own Globe Theatre, East 15's productions are adapted for and created by the company. This ensemble spirit is a crucial part of the ethos on the BA ACTING at East 15 Acting School. Now part of the University of Essex, East 15 was founded over 60 years ago by Maggie Bury to train actors in the tradition of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop Company at the Theatre Royal Stratford, London.

In 2024 we are delighted to bring you Macbeth in which our actors, who have been training together for the last 2 years, use all their individual and collaborative company skills to present thrilling and original productions. This will be the first public performance for the current second year students and look at Shakespeare's work with a fresh mind!

The performance will take place in the Saloon on the First Floor of the Mansion. Access currently is only via staircase as there is no lift. Please contact the Box Office if you believe access may be a problem.

No dogs will be allowed on site for this event.

The performance will be of two hours. There will be no intermission but the Copped Hall bar will be available for refreshments throughout.

Early booking is recommended and there is no late entry.

This is a ticket only event. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available until 10pm the previous day.
