Detaljer

Join us for a walking tour and talk of some of the Second World War sites and stories at Antony and Torpoint.

Visitors will discover how the house was requisitioned by the Ministry of Defence for the WRENs stationed at nearby H.M.S Raleigh, as well as hear some of their stories and memories of Antony. The group will then progress along Ferry Lane, learning how the road was paved by American soldiers in preparation for D-Day. The group will then discover how the surrounding woodlands were used by American troops to train for the invasion, and discover the secrets that they still hold.

The tour will then return to Antony House, where they will hear the stories of local bombing and the Plymouth Blitz.

The tour will last approximately 1 hour.

This talk is scheduled to take place outdoors, but an alternative venue is available in the event of bad weather.
