Family Gig – Brick Intimate Unplugged Gig

Brick are Bridie Jackson and Nick Pierce. Bridie is a songwriter (best known from the folk quartet Bridie Jackson and The Arbour) and Nick is a viola player. The duo started making music together during the first Lockdown of 2020, and they now write and produce ‘dreamy acoustic music’ with the occasional synth from their home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

With support from Laurie Shepherd: a busy Mum of two young kids Laurie manages to fit in short bursts of creativity; writing songs around school runs, washing up and digging the garden. You can expect big themes of life, death, ancestors and the extremities motherhood delivered with heart, honesty and at times humour. Laurie’s beautifully crafted songs lay nestled amongst her eclectic influences. She tugs at folk moves into Jazz sprinkling in some other stylistic elements along the way.
