Donnelly and South

Keith Donnelly and Lauren South are both well-known on the folk scene as solo artists. They are now performing together as well, so the afternoon will include both duos and solo songs. Difficult to describe, these are the words of Derry Jones after a recent gig at the Woodman Folk Club "What an absolute joy it was to be part of one the best evening’s entertainment this year. Yes folks, last Friday, we witnessed a truly unique double-act personified by the totally crazy Keith Donnelly and the totally brilliant Lauren South.I was curious as to how this meld of hyper-comedic talent and enthralling; intricate pure crystal vocal lines would work. The answer was simple, splendidly.Keith, “behaved”, when absolutely necessary and provided Lauren with skilfully played guitar accompaniments, whilst Lauren delivered some of the most beautifully melodic vocal lines I’ve heard. But was that enough?Well, they thought not. So, Lauren also delivered the most hypnotic Shruti & melodious violin playing, just for good measure.Wow!Keith, of course managed to categorically “nail it”, by enhancing and driving the show along by utilising his extensive musical and comedy skills and some amazing stage props!!Superb!"
