Two Oxford undergraduates are in love with two lovely young women. The men need a chaperone in order to spend time with their ladies and Charley's aunt - who he has never before met - is conveniently due to visit. When plans are thwarted by the aunt's sudden delay, alternative plans must be made.

Brandon Thomas wrote this classic, quintessentially Victorian farce in 1892 and it has seldom been off the stage since, performed by community and professional companies alike, translated into many languages, adapted for TV and film, and reworked with music - including opera, pantomime and Broadway musical.The interweaving love affairs - three youthful and one mature - provide ample opportunity for hilarity and an obligatory happy ending.
