Burford Jazz presents Alex Clarke Quartet

Young Jazz Musician of Year finalist - highly fluent saxophonist !

There's a delicious agility to Alex's playing. She moves through chord changes swiftly but keeps the listener anchored with great tuning and melodic lines that delight the ear and the soul. Alex Clarke (http://www.alexclarkejazz.co.uk) has been playing the saxophone for less years than you have fingers, but she has already reached the dizzy heights of finalist of the 2020 BBC Young Jazz Musician of the year and is now a regular guest at jazz clubs stretching to all compass points of the UK. This concert will feature Alex performing jazz that's known for its melody rather than its acrobatics and she has chosen one of her favourite rhythm sections of Alex Steele (piano), Paul Jefferies (bass) and Charlie Stratford (drums).
