Just a short distance from the town centre the Orwell river walk and Alderman canal offer an amazing insight into Ipswich’s past. Setting off from Stoke Bridge we will encounter alien invaders and learn about the mysterious ice-age river Saracens. As we stroll upstream exploring the flora diversity along the bank there will be an opportunity to gather and sample a foraged wild herb tisane. We may also spot egrets, jellyfish and even (if we are lucky) seals! Ipswich will never seem quite the same again.
The walk is public transport accessible. Ipswich Bus station and Train station are both within 5 minutes of the walk start and end points.
Please note there are no toilets available so please come prepared accordingly.
