Ceilidh for Reclaim our Moors

This is a fund-raising ceilidh for Reclaim our Moors, which aims to use public pressure and community organising to bring grouse moors in England into community ownership, starting with Moscar Moor to the west of Sheffield. This is land that once belonged to the people, but was taken away during the Enclosure Acts, and now belongs to the Duke of Rutland. The moorland has been aggressively managed to artificially boost grouse populations for shooting, for example by killing their predators and burning heather, resulting in a barren monoculture.
Reclaim our Moors want to take this land back into the community, and ensure that it is ecologically restored, protected and made a thriving and welcoming place for everyone to enjoy.There will be ceilidh dancing to the music of the Well Dressed Band, and a bar and raffle (cash preferred). All dances will be called, and no experience necessary. Just come and have fun!
Please bring food to share for a pot luck supper. You won't need to eat before you come. There is always plenty!
Please note that doors open at 6.30 pm, and dancing will start at 7 pm.
