Director Nahid Persson Sarvestani returns to her homecountry years after the Iran Islamic Revolution only to observe that the injustices suffered by women before the Revolution have now increased despite the regime’s claims of justice. Drug abuse, class division and religious dogma have increased as Iranian people are facing inescapable circumstances. Thus, the documentary follows the stories of two women who are forced into sex work to contend with their addictions and to scrape by for their children.
