South African saxophonist Linda Sikhakhane has played and recorded with respected South African and international artists such as Brian Thusi, Barney ... Because of unforseen issues with visa case processing the arrival of Linda Sikakhane has been delayed. For that reason we'll have to postpone his Fuglen concert. But fear not, we've still got a wonderful quartet lineup for this evening followed by what we hope to be a fantastic jam session. Børge-Are Halvorsen is well known for his contributions in Norwegian heavy hitters like Sharp Nine and Ensemble Denada. He's a versatile and energetic alto player with a deep understanding of the jazz tradition, making him sought after horn-player by a wide array of musicians from different genres. His own quartet, John Faxe, and the album "I Am Awake" is a fantastic place to start if you want to experience the compositions and alto-craftmanship of Børge-Are. You'll be hearing him at fuglen this evening with a talented and young quartet, with Alexander Hoholm on the bass, Emil Norman on the drums and Martin Nodeland on the guitar.
