The sessions have the power to engage pupils with writing, character creation and drawing in addition to their current topic. In a typical session I show the group my portfolio and demonstrate how I create characters. I introduce them to some inspiring illustrated fiction then teach them to draw a character step- by-step. I take the group through the fundamentals of character creation, then support them in creating original characters and either comic strips or picture book plans.
