Southampton Hongkongers Protest Event

In 2019, there was a large protest in Hong Kong which aimed on defending the human rights, freedom and democracy of Hong Kong people.

However, since the protest movement start, more than 10,000 people have been arrested in protest-related cases, and over 2,300 charged.

Many of them have been detained and are facing prosecution under the National Security Law and illegal assembly rules.

Hong Kongers in Southampton would like to draw the community awareness to the situation of Hong Kong.

The activities of this protest and rally includes photo exhibition, chanting, personal experience sharing, singing, and signing letters to MPs.Note: This will take place at the northern side of The Bargate.
