At last! After a far-too-long absence, this joyous acoustic quartet returns to El Rincón with its signature brand of groove-powered, melody-rich, free-wheeling contemporary jazz. Superlative tenor saxophonist Sophie Stockham and majestic double-bassist Chris Jones are joined by Uphill Game's Matt Stockham Brown on drums and Pete Judge on flugelhorn. Inspirations include South African bassist/composer Johnny Dyani, Thelonious Monk, and
Joshua Redman. A great band, playing some of my all-time favourite music with real panache (Mainly Jazz In Bristol).
