Super Mario Bros.

Sometimes, a film is released, which — be it due to its production, performances, or screenplay — fundamentally changes the cinematic landscape in ways previously unimaginable. A tectonic shift in the art of moving pictures occurs, from which an entirely new school of filmmaking is borne. In Morton & Jangles 1993 film “Super Mario Bros.: The Movie”, we follow the Italian-American Mario brothers and their trials and tribulations venturing through a distorted netherworld mysteriously connected to their hometown of Brooklyn, New York. The brothers are played by Bob Hoskins & John Leguizamo whose performances are so compelling, that you simply forget neither of them are of Italian descent.
