Jeff Mills represents the past, present and future of Techno. The Detroitian has played a significant role through the development of Techno and if anybody imbibes the spirit of our weekly Retro residency, it’s Jeff Mills. It’s a rare occasion that the Techno monolith plays an intimate setting like Jaeger but through some divine fate we managed to pull this one out of the bag as Jaeger and Retro host a night with the Techno legend.
You don’t get dubbed the Wizard likely, and Mills’ precocious talents had set him apart from his peers as a youth, informing extensive career that begat the term Techno, and endeared an international audience to the genre today. His resumé contains some significant moments in electronic music history. His work with Underground Resistance; the legendary Purpose Maker and exhibitionist sets; records like Robert Hood’s Minimal Nation on his axis records label; and hybrid DJ sets that have always pushed the boundaries of technology and traditions, have made Jeff Mills the most revered and respected artist in the Techno scene.
Jokke from The Void will varm up the floor in the basement whilst Retro resident Daniel Gude will keep the fort upstairs.
